Larry A. Danzer died peacefully Friday, August 20, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. He was 66 years of age.
He leaves behind his wife Carol of Penn Valley; children Evonne (Don) Madison of Applegate, Monica (Tony) Rivas of Roseville, Catriona Braid of Penn Valley, and Gavin Braid of San Francisco; grandchildren Jeremy, Julia, Kaitlyn and Alexa; brother Wayne Danzer, and sisters Darlene Thouvenall and Ellen Trowbridge.
Larry was born January 29, 1944 in El Monte, California. He joined the U.S. Army at an early age and completed three years of honorable service. Larry resided in the Sacramento area in the mid 1960s, where he owned and operated a Standard Oil Station, before moving to Grass Valley in the 1970s to work for Lucky’s for 25 years.
In his retirement, Larry was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels as well as an avid outdoorsman, fishing regularly with family and friends. He enjoyed travel, visiting Reno, Scotland, Mexico, the Caribbean, Hawaii, and more. Everyone that knew Larry loved him; he was a wonderful person that will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
I want to say how much you have touched my life. You have given me the two most wonderful and beautiful best friends a girl could have or even ask for. (Evonne and Monica). I remember meeting you Larry and the smile that glowed from you when you looked at your daughters, it was magical. Your relationship grew and grew with them and I was so touched by your love for them I could only wish that for every father and daughter. You truly are one of a kind and always accepted the crazy in me as one of your daughters' friends and side kick. You have gone too soon but, I know we are all on our way to see you in the most wonderful place anyone could every imagine, HEAVEN!!!!! YOU ARE THE LUCKY ONE, YOU ARE HOME! We love and miss you and your family is well taken care of. God loves you!!
